wowtcgscrub.com Celebration Month Begins! – Fun Deck Friday!

Posted by The Masked Ameoba on December 18, 2009

In case you didn’t know wowtcgscrub has been around for almost 2 years now. In fact, early next year is our 2 year anniversary. So, up until Jan 18th, we will be going back to producing content for the site.  Some of the content will not be what you would expect from this site, but it will be interesting at least.  Why Jan 18th you ask?  Well that is the day where wowtcgscrub.com will change into its new format!

So, to start things off for this month we have a fun deck Friday!

It has been a lot of fun over the last few years doing this site, but my favorite has always been Fun Deck Fridays. With a lot of the new cards coming out, I wanted to take a look at a fun deck that may just be able to push its way into competitiveness.

The Poison Rogue.

This deck is based around abusing the Boots of Utter Darkness, to load up your opponent with poison, then sitting back, untouchable and watching him as he dies a slow death. I know there are certainly more efficient ways to kill, but this isn’t one of those kinds of articles.

So here we go with the list.

Hero – Traitor Raessa

Allies
4 – Luppo
4 – Lanthus of the Forest

Abilities
4 – Deadly Poison
4 – Pernicious Poison
2 – Sacrificial Poison (2 in the side for ally decks)
2 – Wound Poison
3 – Deadly Brew
4 – Purloin

Equipment
2 – Shadowprowlers Chestguard
2 – Cowl of the Guiltless
4 – Boots of Utter Darkness
3 – Fleshwork Throwing Glaive
3 – Blackout Truncheon
4 – Whispering Blade of Slaying
4 – Sinister Revenge

Quest

4 – Junkboxes Needed
4 – One Draenei’s Junk
3 – The Overseer’s Shadow
2 – Corki’s Ransom

There you have it.  The most expensive card in the deck is the Truncheon at 3 resources. (thanks GKG) Everything in the deck costs 2 or less Resources, this is because it is designed to move fast and hard to get the Boots + Ally and Weapon out.  Purloin and Junkboxes protect your allies and boots from removal.   The rest is fairly straightforward.

You can also tailor the side deck for whatever meta you have in your area.  More ally heavy metas would like extra sac poison, healing metas would like more Wound Poison, and if you have  alot of solo attack in your area you can always get some Crippling and Anestetic Poisons on them.

Another Naxx card I would consider putting in would be this:

Well there is the start of our month long celebration.  Look for other wowscrub writers to get in on the fun.  If you want to get in on the action feel free to send me anything you would like to say.

Enjoy the month!

Looks like a really fun deck. Boots + Luppo can make life miserable for your opponent. Add a few pickpockets to complement the 4 Purloins and 4 Junkboxes, to get anything that can kill luppo or the boots out of the way.

    Looks like fun!

Worth adding 2-3 kick in case they pull removal after you took things out of their hand? Maybe I just like kick too much, but it could be cool!
